隆乳手術所植入物幾乎都是生理食鹽水袋，這對人體是無害的，以往曾引起醫學界議論紛紛的液態矽膠，由於在破裂後會造成液態矽膠流竄，所以呢目前國內使用機率並不大，再來就是現在流行的一種自體脂肪移植。

一般而言，隆乳的填充物大略有：
Ａ．自體組織移植
現就一般人比較熟悉的『自體脂肪移植』概略說明一番：
所謂『『自體脂肪移植』就是利用自己身體裡肥肥多餘的脂肪注入到咪咪裡面。醫界已提出警告：自體脂肪移植多補少乾坤大挪移後，可是會造成殘留的脂肪鈣化，或是形成囊腫、硬塊等意想不到的傷害喲！少量b]自體脂肪移植[/b]可以創造美麗，效果看起來還不錯！因此啊，有很多美眉前仆後繼的跟進，但是大量脂肪的移植，例如隆乳，就得要小心美麗與哀愁是相伴而來的喲！

注射少量的脂肪到體內，脂肪的存活率自然就高，但是大量的移植，在那麼那麼小的咪咪範圍裡注入至少200c.c.的脂肪，部分大量移植的脂肪只能靠人體組織才能獲得養分，其他得不到養分的脂肪就會發炎膿瘍。

Ｂ．人工合成物植入
(1) 生理食鹽水矽袋
生理食鹽水矽袋在臨床上是最常使用的，這是經過美國食品藥物衛生管理局以及國內衛生署許可的，其為合法、安全的人工植入物。
生理食鹽水矽袋外面有一層穩定的矽膠包覆，內裝生理食鹽水，一般置入咪咪裡面後，除了莢膜攣縮的後遺症外，其它是不會有什麼後遺症，但是呢做起來就沒有像矽膠那麼自然了，摸起來比較硬。

(2) 果凍矽膠隆乳
果凍矽膠隆乳是採用一種全新的醫材－果凍矽膠義乳，與傳統矽膠義乳有天壤之別，它是採用一種會因擠壓而暫時改變外形，但隨著壓力解除就會自動回歸到原來的形狀的一種聚合物，作為義乳的填充物，這種特質讓它同時能有傳統矽膠義乳的彈性及Q度，又不易與其它物質結合，所以即使在義乳破裂時，內容物也不會到處流竄與人體組織結合，反而會十分安定停留在固定的位置，短時間內與人體組織接觸也不會產生不良變化，因此在安全性上比傳統的矽膠義乳提升許多。

鹽水袋隆乳技術在經過長期研究再加上內視鏡輔助技術不斷的提昇後，不但能輕易塑造出完美的外型，連觸感也都能達到十分柔軟，唯一的缺點是當鹽水袋義乳經過幾年後，正常條件下的蒸發滲露，可能使水袋不再像剛植入時那麼飽滿，如此一來水袋的邊緣可能呈現皺摺，如果受術者的脂肪組織太薄弱，就無法將植入義乳厚實的包覆，這時乳房邊緣就可能觸摸到皺摺。

因此身材太瘦的女性，在進行水袋隆乳時，義乳的尺吋選擇就必須特別精準，避免選擇所須容量的上限尺吋義乳，才能延長水袋皺摺發生時間。

反之果凍矽膠隆乳因其材質本身較具黏稠度，且分子間具有很強的凝聚性，而不易產生明顯凹痕，這點對體形單薄的女性，確實能提供較圓順的觸感，但是對於體形較豐腴的女性，二者間的差異就沒那麼明顯了。
